Hi everyone,
I am from the Summer '67 class and just wanted to stop by and say hello and
wish you guys a great reunion. Jessie has been e-mailing me about the events
and I was glad to be able to send her some of my old VNHS Mirror newspapers so
you could all enjoy reading about the "Good old days". I wanted so much to be
able to be there to visit with some of the people I do know from your classes,
but I am up here in British Columbia and it is very difficult to get there
right now. I hope you all have a wonderful time and hello out there to anyone
who might remember me. Take care and be well!!!

out of Hollywood HS, June 1990.
As short a time as I had to spend with
long-time-ago teens from my classes, it
was well worth my visit. I had a glorious morning at the reunion.
Seeing was believing, listening was heaven,
and I glowed all day long re-hearing the
things said to me by former students,
now 51-54 years old. At 71, I can appreciate
having been that age.

2002 brought me in touch with people I had lost track of for 30 years. Then I
decided one day to put my maiden name in a search engine and up comes my 6th
grade class photo from Kester Ave. Elementary on the Class of '66 VNHS
webpage!! Shock and disbelief! I went to Van Nuys Jr. High (anyone remember
Squish?) and then moved to Palos Verdes. I graduated from UCSB with a degree in
art and still live in Santa Barbara. I just took up plein air landscape
painting again about 5 years ago after raising my two kids, now 19 and 23. So
now I have lots more time for friends. Love to hear from old ones.

Howdy Everyone. I'm Rich Olmstead, and would have graduated from Van Nuys in the spring of '65. But alas, we moved to St. Helena in the Napa Valley after my junior year. I'll always be a Wolf, surfer, and a greaser.
